The Henderson County Solid Waste Board met at the Henderson County Courthouse on Thursday evening, December 12th. With the city of Lexington’s solid waste to soon go to their new transfer station, the board wanted to explore some cost saving measures, and begin brainstorming what the future of solid waste might look like in the days to come. The board discussed the possible closure of some of the centers in the county, “But that’s really not an option right now,” Solid Waste Director Delaine Ozwald said, “but there was a proposal discussed that would serve two purposes.” With the daylight hours ending so soon in the evenings, the board wants to…
