Early Morning Lexington Fire Claims Life

One person died in an early morning fire at 303 Natchez Trace Drive in Lexington on Thursday, January 9th.
According to Lexington Police Chief Jeff Middleton, Lexington Police and Fire Investigators along with the assistance of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are working to determine the cause and origin of the fire. The identity of the female victim has not been released at this time. The body has been sent to Nashville for an autopsy, Chief Middleton added.
A passing motorist witnessed flames coming from the home and reported the fire at 5:44 a.m. Firefighters quickly responded and aggressively worked to extinguish the blaze. According to Chief Middleton they do not suspect foul play and there was also no evidence of smoke detectors in the home.
