Speed Limit Reduced on U.S. 412 at Sandridge

The speed limit on U.S. 412 at Sandridge was reduced to 55 miles per hour in conjunction with the recent opening of Tennessee 459 (the Lexington bypass).

Seen as one of the most dangerous intersections between Lexington and Law Road, the state has begun the design and planning stage of a project to redesign the intersection.

According to TDOT’s report, that section of highway has a severe crash rate of 0.161, which exceeds the statewide average severe crash rate of 0.004 for a rural Principal Arterial.
