Lady Tigers Runner-up State Champs, Mykenzi Duke Breaks Single Season Homerun Record

The Lady Tigers traveled to Murfreesboro this past Tuesday, May 23, to start their run for back-to-back state championships. The Lady Tigers won against Munford in their first game with a final score of 6-1. The Lady Tigers played East Hamilton in the second round of the tournament on Thursday, May 25. Lexington was behind until they took the lead in the seventh inning to win the game 10-9.

On Thursday May 25, Lexington played McNairy and took their first loss that pushed them into the loser’s bracket. The Lady Tigers lost the game 7-3. The Lexington Lady Tigers were now facing a win or go home situation against Gibbs. The Lady Tigers took care of business in that game with a score of 7-3, securing a spot in the state championship game on Friday.
