Lexington Tigers Lose Quarterfinals Game

The Lexington Tigers basketball program traveled to South Gibson to face off with the Hornets in the regional tournament. The Tigers were looking to get past the quarterfinal round of the tournament. The game went down to the wire, but Lexington was ultimately defeated by two points. The final score of the contest was 54-56, and I was eliminated from the tournament.

The Tigers started slowly in the first quarter, posting eight points, while the Hornets started with 19 points. The second quarter saw Lexington score 13 points and hold South Gibson to nine points. The Tigers went into halftime trailing by seven points with a score of 21–28. At the start of the third quarter, Lexington had 17 points to South Gibson’s 13, cutting the lead to three points. The Tigers could not complete the comeback over the Hornets in the fourth quarter, adding 16 points to their total while South Gibson had 15 points of their own.
