Spring Cleaning is Underway, Litter Events Planned

The Henderson County Solid Waste Department has begun spring cleaning as crews were out, February 11th, picking up trash along Henderson County roads.

Henderson County Mayor Robbie McCready is asking everyone to use caution while traveling the roads where the crews are working.

McCready said they plan to have crews out every Saturday in February. “We have to do better (keeping our roads clean),” McCready said.

McCready is also looking for volunteers. On the third Saturday in March, April, and May the county will be hosting a volunteer cleanup. McCready will be announcing staging areas for these cleanup days.

If anyone would like to volunteers as a site coordinator please contact McCready’s office or your county commissioner.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation has also been kicking off its “Nobody Trashes Tennessee” campaign during the month of February.
