LHS Tigers Lose Close Game to Eagles

The Lexington Tigers basketball club had a makeup game this past Saturday, February 4, against the McNairy County Bobcats. The Tigers wanted to go for three wins in a row after they upset Hardin County the night before. Unfortunately, the Tigers could not collect their third win in a row, with the Bobcats getting a one-point victory over Lexington. The final score of the contest was 45–46.

The Tigers started out the game very slowly, scoring only seven points in the first quarter while the Bobcats posted 16 of their own. In the second quarter, the Tigers bounced back with an 18-point quarter as they held McNairy to nine points. Both teams were tied at 25 points apiece heading into halftime. The third quarter saw Lexington take the lead with 13 points, and the Bobcats had seven. Lexington could not hold on to the lead in the fourth quarter. The Tigers only posted seven points, and McNairy scored 14 points, giving the Bobcats the one-point win.
