Tigers Suffer a Tough Defeat

The Lexington High School basketball program was trying to get back in the win column after losing big to Bolivar last Tuesday, January 10. The Tigers went head-to-head with Liberty last Friday, January 13. Lexington was unable to come out of the game with a win and suffered a heartbreaking loss to the Crusaders. The final score of the competition ended at 40–41 in favor of the Crusaders.
The first quarter saw the Tigers record 11 points while the Crusaders scored 13 points. In the second quarter, Lexington scored ten points and was able to hold Liberty to only eight points. The Tigers and the Crusaders would head into halftime with the score all square at 21 points apiece. At the start of the second half, the Tigers posted six points, and the Crusaders notched a total of seven points in the quarter. The Tigers headed into the fourth quarter down one point. Lexington had 13 points in the fourth quarter but gave up 13 points to Liberty, which sealed the game. The Tigers suffered a tough one-point loss.
