Lions Mauled by the Tigers

The Scotts Hill Lions basketball program had started the new year with three wins in a row. The Lions had just taken down the Adamsville Cardinal last Tuesday, January 10. Scotts Hill was set to take on the Bolivar Tigers last Friday, January 13. The Lions took their first loss of the new year. Scotts Hill lost this game with a final score of 59-78 in favor of the Tigers.
In the first quarter, Scotts Hill scored 15 points but allowed the Tigers to score 23 points. The Lions had their worst quarter in the second quarter. The Lions only posted nine points while the Tigers had 18 of their own. The Bolivar Tigers headed into halftime with the lead and a score of 24-41. The Lions came out of the third quarter cutting into Bolivar’s lead by recording 21 points to the Tigers’ 16. The fourth quarter saw Scotts Hill score 14 points and Bolivar score 21 points, giving the Lions their first loss of 2023.
