Last Friday, December 30, the Lexington High School basketball team played their final game in the Milan Christmas Tournament. They were looking to end their two-game losing streak and the year with a win. The Tigers were facing the Tipton-Rosemark Rebels, and Lexington came out of the game with the final score being 50-35 and getting themselves back in the win column.
The Tigers started the game with a phenomenal first quarter scoring 21 points and holding the Rebels to only seven points. The second quarter saw Lexington net ten points to Tipton-Rosemark’s six. The Tigers headed to halftime with a 31-13 lead. Coming out at the half, Lexington added another 11 points to their total while the Rebels were held to five points. The fourth quarter ended with the Tigers scoring eight points, and Tipton-Rosemark posting their best quarter with 17 points. It was not nearly enough with Lexington still winning the contest by double digits.
Donovan Belew led the way in scoring with his 16 points. Rocky Hurley and Aiden Valle both posted eight points each in the contest. Ryder Blankenship had himself…
