Lady Tigers Lose a Close Game

The Lexington Lady Tigers basketball team was looking to get their second win in a row in the Henry County Christmas Tournament on December 30, 2022. Lexington had just defeated Big Sandy in their first game of the event. The Lady Tigers faced the home team Henry County Lady Patriots. The game was a close one that ultimately saw the Lady Patriots come out victors with a final score of 49-47.

The first quarter ended with the Lady Tigers recording 14 points to the Lady Patriots nine. Lexington was able to add another 12 points to their total in the second quarter while holding Henry County to only six points. The score heading into halftime was 26-15 in favor of the Lady Tigers. The second half began with Lexington’s worst quarter only scoring ten points. The Lady Patriots scored 13 points and cut the lead to eight heading into the fourth quarter. The fourth quarter saw the Lady Tigers give up 21 points to the Lady Patriots. Lexington scored 11 points in the quarter, and it wasn’t enough giving the Lady Tigers a heartbreaking loss.
