City School Board Discusses Director Contract

The Lexington City School Board discussed a proposed contract for the system director during a work session, December 13, 2022.
In November, the board approved a proposed contract for school system Director Cindy Olive, but that contract has not been signed.
Olive was not present at the work session, so no agreement was reached. Board member Chad Wood was also absent.
“We all can agree that she has done a great job,” board member Jack Hinson said as board members discussed the proposal.
Some board members appeared surprised the contract offer was not accepted. The board approved an offer last month of $99,500 per year with a two percent raise every year. At the end of four years it would be $107, 246.
“Cindy likes her job, she likes the district, she likes the people and she thought she should be rewarded more for doing a great job that our district did though COVID,” Board chair Rob Helms told board members, but he added…
