Shop with a Cop Shows Different Side of Police Work

It was with a heavy heart that officers took part in this year’s Shop with a Cop event in Lexington.

This program was one of late Assistant Chief Barry Roberts’ favorite programs and the community has reached out to show its support.

It also allowed law enforcement officers an opportunity to show a different side of law enforcement through their Shop with a Cop program.

On Saturday, December 10th, officers with the Lexington Police Department, Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, Tennessee Highway Patrol and Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency each participated in this year’s event according to LPD officer Wendy Nichols.

The program has been around since 2015 and has served 465 children over the years. This year 56 children took part in the program.
