Lady Tigers Basketball Unable to Overcome Rival

The Lexington High School Lady Tigers basketball program welcomed a familiar foe into their gymnasium on Friday, December 8, 2022. The Lady Tigers hosted their in-county rival, the Lady Lions of Scotts Hill High School. This game will always hold extra weight behind it, as the two teams compete for bragging rights with the win. Unfortunately for the Lady Tigers, it would be Scotts Hill who claimed the rights in this contest as they Lady Lions went on to beat the Lady Tigers by a final score of 42-33.
Lexington started the game by posting seven points to the scoreboard in the first quarter. Scotts Hill was able to start with 11 points in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, the Lady Tigers secured 14 points before the break. The Lady Lions recorded five points in the second quarter. Lexington led the game at halftime, 21-16. In the third quarter of play, the Lady Tigers only managed three points the entire quarter. Scotts Hill was able to post 14 points to start the second half. The fourth quarter saw Lexington add on another nine points to their total, but the Lady Lions tacked on another 12 points in the quarter to take the win.
The Lady Tigers finished the contest going 6 of 14 from the free throw line against Scotts Hill High School.
