LHS Lady Tigers Dominate West Carroll

After coming off a victory in the first Hall of Fame game that the Lexington High School Lady Tigers basketball team played, the team was looking to continue the success into their second game. Lexington hit the road on Saturday, November 19, 2022, as the Lady Tigers made their way to West Carroll High School. Lexington jumped out to an early lead in the opening quarter and did not look back as the Lady Tigers cruised to an easy victory over their opponent. Lexington High School was victorious on the day by a final score of 49-15.
Leading the way for the Lady Tigers in scoring on the afternoon was Kylie Waldrep. Waldrep netted 16 points to carry her team to a win over West Carroll. Both Alaysia Belew and Holly Bartholomew each scored eight points apiece for Lexington. Callie McDonald followed her with six points of her own. The duo of Holly Simons and Kadence McNight each had four points apiece. Kaitlyn Brown rounded out the scoring for the Lady Tigers in the game by recording three points in the win.
Lexington would go 11 of 18 from the free throw line against West Carroll. The Lady Tigers connected on 16 two-point baskets and added another pair of three-point buckets in the victory.
As the game started, the Lady Tigers posted 14 points in the first quarter and held West Carroll to scoring only six points in the opening quarter. In the second quarter, Lexington recorded another 16 points before halftime. West Carroll was only able to secure two points in the second quarter.
