LHS Cross Country Season Off to a Roaring Start

For the past few years, the Lexington High School cross country program has seen a lot of success during the girls’ races but not much, save a few individuals, on the boys’ side. Well, this season, the roles have reversed, so to speak.
On the girls’ side, sophomore Addison Stanfill and freshman Brooklyn Trosper are leading the girls’ team this season, medaling in both races thus far. The girls’ team has also added freshmen Millie Davis and Cara Roach, to go along with seniors Marley Scott, Addison Wood, Megan Wood, and Morgan Wood. This is the first season running for the four seniors and head coach Terry Clement is happy with the strides they all have made so far. In their first race at Greenfield, back on August 23, the girls had an impressive 3rd place finish as a team. At last week’s home race, at the Lexington Soccer Complex, the girls finished 4th as a team, just missing the podium. At Greenfield, Stanfill finished 11th and Trosper 12th to lead the way. At last week’s meet, Stanfill was 9th and Trosper 10th to lead the Lady Tigers once again.
