County Board of Education Reviews Proposals for Athletic Facilities

On Monday evening, July 25, 2022, the Henderson County Board of Education met to discuss and review proposals for the improvements of athletic facilities at Lexington High School and Scotts Hill High School.

The Henderson County Board of Education discussed improvements to the athletic facilities at both Lexington and Scotts Hill High Schools when they met with engineers Monday night July 25, 2022.
The board members asked several questions about the projects but took no action during the meeting. The board will meet again, August 18, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.
The board heard from TLM Associates architect Jerry Hartsfield and educational facilities consultant Buddy White, about improvements to the Scotts Hill High School and Lexington High School football stadiums.
The board is looking at swapping the home and visitors sides at Lexington High School, using artificial turf in place of natural grass, moving the concessions stand and a new ticket gate entrance and widening the field so it can be utilized for soccer. The current lighting would have to be moved…
