Scotts Hill Board to Discuss Police Position

The Scotts Hill City board will meet Monday, July 18, 2022, to discuss the town police department after the police chief submitted his resignation. The city board will meet at 6:00 p.m. at city hall.
Police Chief David Alexander submitted his resignation to accept a position as a school resource officer in Scotts Hill.
Sheriff Brian Duke said he is presenting the board with some options to continue law enforcement in Scotts Hill while the board decides how to proceed.
According to Mayor Kenny Parish, Decatur County Sheriff Keith Byrd has also pledged his help.
Alexander has served 12 years with the Scotts Hill Police Department and his last day will be Wednesday, July 20, 2022. “I have enjoyed it,” Alexander said about serving on the Scotts Hill Police Department. “I will still be a part of the community.”
