Lexington City School Board Holds Brief Session

The Lexington City Board of Education held a brief meeting, Tuesday night, June 28, 2022.

Since the Lexington City Board had not approved the 2022-23 budgets, the school board adopted a continuing budget resolution so it could operate past the end of the fiscal year. A new fiscal year begins July 1. The continuing budget resolution gives the city school system a way to continue school operations until the budget is finally approved by the city board.

School board members voted 5-0 on the continuing budget. Board members Jim Terry and Jack Hinson were absent.

In other business, the board approved a surplus technology list of 592 pieces of equipment. The board approved budget amendments to the 2021-22 budgets to help close out the fiscal year and they approved…
