JECD Board Approves New Officers and Discusses Budget

The Joint Economic and Community Development Board discussed the need for a budget and approved new officers during its meeting Thursday, June 30, 2022,
The board is made up of officials from Henderson County and the cities of Lexington, Sardis, Scotts Hill, and Parkers Crossroads. The board is part of the TriStar Award program and works to address issues that affect all of Henderson County, such as industrial recruiting, tourism, and other economic development.
Out going JECD Board president, Jeff Griggs, recommend that the board review a budget and a set of by-laws. “We have put some money in (the budget),” Griggs said. “As we work good together and we can do a lot for our community.”
“In the future, I think there are a lot of things we can do together to improve the quality of life for everybody that lives in the county,” Griggs said.
