Henderson County School Board Holds Brief Meeting

The Henderson County Board of Education approved the second and final reading of the grading system to be used by kindergarten through the 12th grade, during a short session Monday night, June 20, 2022.
The board also unanimously approved the first reading of the amended board policies. The board policy changes come at the recommendation of the Tennessee School Board Association.
The school board association’s policy department monitors statutory and regulatory changes to ensure the policies comply with state and federal laws. All seven school board members were present.
The board also unanimously approved the consent agenda which included minutes of the previous meeting, the financial report, and budget transfers.
Sheriff Brian Duke updated the board on four grants to provide funding for additional resource officers. Currently the school system has five officers to cover nine schools. If the funds are approved, then an additional…
