Highway 22 South Re-Opens

Traffic is flowing again on Tennessee 22 South after the road had been closed for the construction of the new State Route 459 bypass which will connect U. S. 412 and Tennessee 22 South.

While the re-opening of Tennessee 22 South helping relieve the congestion caused by the detour, one business is seeing a new problem. The highway had been closed for the construction at the intersection of the new State Route 459 and Tennessee 22 South.

The bypass with U.S. 412 and Tennessee 22 on the southwest side of Lexington. For Major Market the construction is creating new problems.

The addition of concrete curb and gutters along the Tennessee 22 side of the store, is restricting access to the store.

“The worst part hasn’t happened yet,” store owner Brian Jones said. The state will be installing a fence which will make it more difficult for truckers trying to fuel at the diesel pumps and customers entering off of…

    when is 22south going be 4 lane and broad and chruch street going be a fix
