Lexington Softball Crushes Lincoln County

After coming off their first win of the tournament the day prior, Lexington High School softball was setup to play Lincoln County on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The Lady Tigers squeaked the win out over Soddy Daisy but when it came to Lincoln County, Lexington had no trouble at all. The game would only be played in five innings as the Lady Tigers routed Lincoln County to secure their second victory of the tournament. The final score came to be 11-0, in favor of the Lady Tigers.
Lexington got out to an early lead in the game by posting three runs in both the bottom of the first and second innings. The Lady Tigers did not score in the third inning. Coming to the bottom of the fourth inning, the Lady Tigers would wrap up the game and secure the win by scoring five runs and sending Lincoln County to the loser’s bracket.
The Lady Tigers would record 13 hits in the game as a team. Leading the way was Marley Maness who finished 2 for 2 with an RBI. MyKenzi Duke and Kennedy Brown went 3 for 4 each. Duke collected three RBIs. Kylie Waldrep ended the game going 2 for 3, with two RBIs. Madelynn Mooney and Shay Hollingsworth went 2 for 4 apiece. Hollingsworth also collected an RBI in the win. Kyrsten Brown finished 1 for 4 in the game. Cadey McDaniel also collected an RBI for Lexington as well.
