LHS Softball Takes First Defeat of Season

Heading to Florence, Alabama on Friday, April 15, 2022, the Lexington High School Lady Tigers softball team was looking to make a name for themselves in the Northwest Alabama Bash. Lexington knew that it would have to play some of the best softball of the season if the team wanted to keep their perfect record intact. The Lady Tigers would play two games on Good Friday and come away with one win, as Lexington took their first loss of the season to an outstanding Hartselle (AL) team. Lexington won their first game of the tournament, however, against Hatton, which is out of Town Creek, Alabama.
In the win over Hatton, Lexington found themselves having to come from behind in the victory. Hatton would score one run in the top of the first inning and another run in the top of the third inning to take an early 2-0 lead. The bats then came alive for the Lady Tigers as Lexington plated six runs in the bottom of the third inning, and that is all it took for the team to secure the win.
Cadey McDaniel would have another impressive outing for the Lady Tigers. She pitched five innings and allowed two runs on five hits, while striking out two.
