LHS Softball Ends Tournament with Win

Playing in their final game of the Northwest Alabama Bash, Lexington went up against East Lawrence. This school is located in Trinity, Alabama, and the game was played late in the evening of Friday, April 15. After taking their first loss on the season in the game prior, the Lady Tigers came into this game with a point to prove. Lexington took care of business in a shortened game and won by a final score of 11-1.

One could say that the Lady Tigers had a chip on their shoulder entering this game. Lexington posted four runs in the bottom of the first inning and then added another five runs in the bottom of the second inning. The Lady Tigers allowed one run to East Lawrence in the top of the third inning. Lexington then scored two more runs in the bottom of the third inning before both teams went scoreless in the fourth inning and the game was over due to the run rule.

Mykenzi Duke, Kyrsten Brown, and Kinley Melton led the Lady Tigers at the plate. All three batters were perfect in the game by going 2 for 2. Shay Hollingsworth and Kennedy Brown both finished 2 for 3 for Lexington. Kylie Waldrep went 1 for 2 in the win and both Kailyn Melton and Marley Maness each finished 1 for 3.
