Two People Critical as a Result of Two Separate I-40 Incidents

A motor home caught fire at the 116 exit on Interstate 40 on Saturday afternoon, April 9, 2022. Another accident at the 117 mile marker on Interstate 40 occurred at the same time.

On Saturday afternoon, April 9, 2022, Henderson County Fire Station 3 responded to a motor home fire at the 116 exit of the east bound side on I-40.

The motor home was engulfed in flames upon arrival. It was also discovered the driver had 2nd and 3rd  degree burns to multiple parts of the body. The driver was transported by ambulance to a local hospital but then airlifted.

At the same time, an accident occurred at the 117 mile marker involving two semi’s that resulted in the driver of one truck being trapped that required extrication. The Henderson County Rescue Squad responded…
