SH Lady Lions Take Back-to-Back Losses

The Scotts Hill High School Lady Lions softball team played in the Milan Tournament the weekend of April 1st and 2nd. The Lady Lions would go up against West Carroll and Westview on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Fighting hard with good effort by the team, Scotts Hill wasn’t able to come away victorious in either game unfortunately. The Lady Lions took defeats against both West Carroll and Westview on the day.

Scotts Hill took on West Carroll to start the morning out on Saturday, April 2, 2022. The Lady Lions would get out to an early lead and try to hang on for the victory as the innings passed but it would be West Carroll that would come from behind and take the win in the contest. The final score of the game was 5-4.

The Lady Lions scored two runs in the top of the first inning and allowed West Carroll to tie things up in the bottom half of the third inning with two runs. West Carroll took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning by plating one run. Scotts Hill answered with two more runs of their own in the top half of the fifth inning but allowed West Carroll to score two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to take the win.

Sydney Coffman started the game for the Lady Lions and tossed three innings of play. She allowed two hits and two runs, while striking out three. Kylie Blankenship pitched an inning for Scotts Hill and allowed one run. Karley Bedwell would also see action in the game allowing…
