Lady Lions Softball Take Loss Against Ripley, Tie McKenzie

The Scotts Hill High School Lady Lions softball program made their way into Milan, Tennessee on Friday, April 1, 2022, to participate in the Milan Tournament. Scotts Hill knew that the competition would be good, but the Lady Lions were up to the task to welcome it. In a close game to start the tournament, Scotts Hill lost to Ripley, 4-1, and then took on McKenzie following that game that resulted in a tie for the Lady Lions softball team.

In the first game of the day, Scotts Hill took on Ripley High School. This game would start with Ripley scoring one run in the top of the first inning and another two runs in the top of the third inning. The Lady Lions plated their single run in the bottom half of the third inning to cut into the lead. Ripley would answer with another run in the top of the fourth inning and each team was held scoreless in the fifth inning. The Lady Lions took the loss, 4-1.

The only two players for Scotts Hill to record a hit in the game were Gracie Wooley and Karley Bedwell. Wooley went 1 for 1, while Bedwell finished 1 for 2. Wooley reached on a single and scored the run for the Lady Lions. Bedwell hit for a double and collected the RBI.

Karley Bedwell was the only pitcher the Lady Lions used in the game, as she got the start and lasted the duration of the contest. Bedwell pitched five innings of play, allowing seven hits, four runs, and…
