West Church Street Wreck Cracks Water Hydrant

An early Monday afternoon wreck on West Church Street caused quite a flood and a water service area along the busy business corridor. A silver Toyota Camry, according to some, might have been attempting to cross West Church Street from the McDonald’s area.

The preliminary report from the Lexington Police Department is still pending, but the Lexington Police Department, the Lexington Fire Department, and crews from Lexington Utilities responded to the scene around 1:45 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2022, to find a silver Toyota Camry lodged against the fire hydrant located at the corner of West Church Street and Eastern Shores Drive, across from the McDonald’s area.
