Miss Lexington Lauren Dickson Speaks to Rotary

The special guest speaker for the January 18, 2022, Lexington Rotary Club meeting was newly crowned Miss Lexington Lauren Dickson.

“I have been here several times to sing, but this is the first time for me to speak to you,” Lauren said. She has always considered Lexington as part of her home, as her mother is from Lexington, she has previously served as Miss Lexington, and she now works for Modern Woodmen here.

She spoke on becoming and failure. “We may sometimes have a trail of failures, and years ago I might have been bitter, but failure is often a part of learning. I am a woman of faith, however, and it is important to me to submit all my decisions to prayer.”

She has been right on the edge of achievement, such as coming in first runner-up in the Miss Tennessee pageant. “It was hard to understand at first, but things sometimes happen for a reason,” she said. “Sometimes you can just try too hard, or it may not be the right time, and it is…
