Lexington Dominated by South Gibson Lady Hornets

Over the weekend, the Lady Tigers of Lexington High School took the trek over to South Gibson to take on the Lady Hornets. Trying to keep up with the pace of South Gibson, Lexington didn’t make the necessary stops that were needed to complete the victory. In the end, it was all South Gibson as they ran away with the win and handed the Lady Tigers the loss on the road. The final score of the game was 64-34, in favor of South Gibson.

Leading the team in scoring on the evening was Diamond Holland. She finished with 13 points in the game. Sarah Simmons came away with 11 points for the Lady Tigers and Jadyn Yarbro collected seven points in the game. Callie McDonald would record two points and Alysia Belew finished the contest with a single point for Lexington.

The game got stared with the Lady Tigers scoring 13 points in the opening quarter. Lexington allowed South Gibson to collect 16 points to start the game. The Lady Tigers came back and scored five points in the second quarter. South Gibson had a big quarter by netting 23 points in the second quarter. The halftime score was 39-18, in favor of the Lady Hornets. The third quarter saw the Lady Tigers score 12 points after the break and allowed South Gibson to record 14 points in the same quarter.
