Annual HCFD Report Submitted

Henderson County Fire Chief Lynn Murphy submitted the annual report for 2021 on January 5, 2021. “We went another year without a fire related fatality,” Chief Murphy said. “This seven-year period without a fatality is the longest in our history, and much of that is due to our efforts in getting the free ten-year smoke detectors into every home that we can.” Chief Murphy said that although there were no deaths, there were two citizens that were injured enough to require medical attention.

In addition to regular firefighting duties, the department assisted Shelby County with a tanker request, and assisted with debris and search of damaged homes in Middlefork during the March 27th tornado.
