LHS Lady Tigers Basketball Notches Win over Riverside

On Friday, December 3, 2021, the Lady Tigers welcomed a familiar foe into their home gymnasium. Lexington hosted the Lady Panthers of Riverside High School. This game is an annual rivalry game against the bordering county high school. Lexington never trailed in the game at the end of each quarter and at the final buzzer were ahead of Riverside on the scoreboard. The Lady Tigers were able to take the win by a final of 44-37.
Both teams came out in the first quarter and scored the exact number of points. Each team had 14 points at the end of the opening quarter of play. In the second quarter, Lexington scored nine points and held Riverside to only four points scored in the quarter. The Lady Tigers led at halftime, 23-18. In the third quarter, Lexington recorded 11 points and the Lady Panthers added 13 points to their total score. The fourth quarter saw the Lady Tigers score ten more points to take the win as they allowed Riverside to record six points.
