Derek Drive Comes Alive With the Spirit of Christmas

Michelle Britt Melton passed along how beautiful her street, Derek Drive in Pope Subdivision, looks at night with all the wonderful Christmas decorations.

Michelle said that she and her husband Wesley started with just a few decorations some years back, and now they are all around the house. “Every year we added something different, and some of the neighbors started doing their houses as well,” she said.

This year she has dedicated their lights to Silas Pope, son of Drew and Angela Pope of San Antonio, Texas. The two-year-old has been battling cancer. “Drew used to stay here at my house with my older son Daniel,” Michelle said, “and we just took Drew in as a son too!”

Lit up in the Christmas season spirit were neighbors Chris and Amanda French, Jeff and Sandra Wood, and Bill and Jackie Elliot Doll. Sandra said that they had stopped doing outside decorations for awhile, “But you know, after COVID-19, we just felt like we needed to…
