Saturday morning, November 6, 2021, was a special day in the history of Scotts Hill as the Veterans Memorial, with tile honorariums, was dedicated at the Scotts Hill City Park.

“The American Legion #243, Scotts Hill, field of flags was a beautiful addition to the dedication of phase one for the Veterans Memorial. A huge thank you to everyone who purchased a tile, to see this finally happen is wonderful,” Bonnie Butler said of the event. “This project started around four years ago when Alexandra (Alex) Carrington suggested we should think about doing a Veterans Memorial at the park, Melissa Bailey started researching other towns memorials and plans were set in motion to go forward.”

“The type of tile was decided on and the design of the platform. Finally, things were looking up and on go then Covid reared its ugly head and construction could not begin.”
