LHS Volleyball Advances To Regional Final Match

Lexington High School Lady Tigers volleyball had a big game this past Monday night, October 11. The team looked to secure a win that would place them in a spot for a sub-state game. This was a must win match, as the loser’s season ended. The Lady Tigers were not ready for their season to be done and came away with a victory over Crockett County. Lexington would defeat the Lady Cavaliers in four sets, 25-13, 21-25, 25-23, and 25-22.
With this win, it marks the third straight year that the Lexington High School Lady Tigers volleyball team has advanced to the sub-state. That in itself should tell you the state of the program under head coach Brad Barger.
The top performers in kills for the Lady Tigers were Preslee Doner, who had 21 kills, followed by Ellie Smith who recorded 15 on the night. Callie McDonald finished with eight and Kylie Atchison came away with six kills in the win. Both Mykenzie Duke and Morgan Sanders each had two apiece.
Leading Lexington in assists was Kylie Atchison. She has been a force to be reckoned with this season as she recorded 44 assists in this match. Emmy Corbitt would finish with two assists also for the Lady Tigers. Mykenzie Duke led the team in blocks with one over Crockett County.
