Lady Tigers Volleyball Take Back to Back Wins

Last Tuesday night, August 17, the LHS Lady Tigers Volleyball team welcomed the Crockett County Lady Cavaliers to Lexington High School. Coming off a win over Madison Academic, Lexington was looking to keep the pace early in the season. The Lady Tigers did just that in securing a victory over a well-rounded Crockett County team. Lexington would win in three sets over the Lady Cavaliers, 25-12, 25-13, and 26-24.

The team leader in kills for Lexington on the night was Ellie Smith, who had 15. Callie McDonald would secure eight kills and Morgan Sanders recorded seven. Kylie Atchison, Preslee Doner, and Mykenzie Duke each had four kills apiece. The assist leader for Lexington was Kylie Atchison. She recorded 34 assists on the evening. Emmy Corbitt came away with three and Preslee Doner had 1 assist in the win. Morgan Sanders would record the only block for the Lady Tigers against Crockett County, as she finished with one. Emmy Corbitt would lead with way with 16 digs, followed by Callie McDonald with eight, and Kylie Atchison finished with five. Both Emmy Corbitt and Morgan Sanders led the team in aces, with two. The service point leaders against the Lady Cavaliers were Morgan Sanders and Emmy Corbitt, who both recorded 16 service points each. Kylie Atchison recorded 15 service points for the Lady Tigers, as well.

The following afternoon, Lexington would welcome TCA to their home court looking to stay in the win column. The Lady Tigers would not find any trouble in taking another win on the season as they defeated TCA in three straight sets, 25-14, 25-18, 25-20.
