LHS Volleyball Split Games to Start Season

The Lexington High School Lady Tigers Volleyball team got their regular season started on Monday, August 16. Lexington traveled to Liberty Tech in Jackson, Tennessee to play in two games that evening. The first game the Lady Tigers would face off against one of the better teams in the state in Dyer County and then the second game saw Lexington go up against Madison Academic.
In their first match of the season, the Lady Tigers would fall in two sets to Dyer County, 23-25 and 16-25. Leading in this match in kills for Lexington was Ellie Smith, with six. Kylie Atchison and Mykenzie Duke each had four kills and Preslee Doner finished with three kills. Kylie Atchison was the leader in assists, with 11, and Ellie Smith recorded one assist for Lexington. Emmy Corbitt had ten digs for the Lady Tigers against Dyer County, while Smith had four and Atchison finished with three. Ellie Smith also recorded an ace for the Lady Tigers, as well. Leading the way in service points for Lexington against Dyer County was Callie McDonald, who finished with 11 service points. Riley Owens would record nine service points in the match, also.
