LCSS Board Meets

The board for the Lexington City School System met on Tuesday evening, June 29, 2021, and began with approving the consent agenda and approval of minutes from the May 18, 2021, regular meeting.

Director of Schools, Cindy Olive, reported that Mr. Gary Garner will continue with the mowing contract and arrangements are being made to repave the track at Caywood Elementary School.

Director Olive also reported that both Lexington Middle School and Caywood Elementary School had applied for and were granted participation in the state program as Trauma Informed Schools. This will provide expert resources and intervention help for the staff members that will prove invaluable coming out of a pandemic.

Under new business and items that require board action, the board approved the following end of year amendments and budget updates:

• Finance – Approve FY20-21 Budget Amendments
• Approve FY20-21 Outstanding Purchase Orders – Accounts Payable
• Food Service – Approve FY21-22 Bids (Renewals & Bid Awards)
