LFD Extricates Injured Driver After Two Vehicle Collision on Barnhill and Main

The “Y” shaped intersection of North Main Street and Barnhill Street was the scene of a two-vehicle collision at 2:01 p.m. on Tuesday, June 8, 2021.

The Lexington Fire Department arrived at the scene and used the jaws of life to extricate Christina Mathis from her vehicle, where she was then transported by EMS to the Jackson Madison County General Hospital, according to the report from the Lexington Police Department.

Assistant Lexington Fire Chief Jon Maness, along with Wesley Vaughn, Mitchell Wood, Mark Zurofsky, and Patrick Lindsey were the team from the Lexington Fire Department which handled the extrication.
