With the start of the 2021-2022 football season months away for the Lexington High School Big Red Tigers, the team is currently participating in their offseason summer workout program. Needing to get in football ready shape is a big priority for this upcoming season, as with any season that occurs within the Tigers Football program. Hard work and dedication to the body and mind makes a good football team even better when it comes to the start of the season. We are going to take a look into what the summer workout program is like for the Big Red Tigers as well as tackle a few more questions about the upcoming season and team. Let’s take a look.

In getting to speak with the head coach of the Tigers football team, Bryant Hollingsworth, I was able to have a question-and-answer session with him. Bryant shared some of his thoughts and opinions about how things were progressing as the program was underway for the summer. Here is what the coach had to say when questioned.
In asking how the summer workouts were going for the Lexington High School Big Red football team, Bryant stated, “The summer workouts are going great!” The team works out on Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Team members get in and strive to put in hard work to make sure they become better teammates and players for the Tiger football program.

I then asked Coach Hollingsworth what the summer workouts consisted of for his team? He replied, “The team is in the weight room from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and then we begin to work on offense, defense, and special team scenarios. This will help up in the long run by getting a head start on things in the summer.”

The Lexington coaching staff for the upcoming season is looking to build team unity and confidence in their players and they are going to do everything in their power to make sure and accomplish this for the young men. “We want to make sure we all are on the same page”, said Bryant.

Workouts in the summer program will proceed until June 25, 2021, and then the team will have a two-week dead period as required. The Big Red Tigers will then start back on July 12, 2021, with the goal of getting ready for football action later in the year.

In being able to get to touch on a few more topics, other than the current summer workout program, the community will also get a glimpse of what the team will be striving for and the strengths that the team will build upon for the season that is approaching.

Coach Hollingsworth shared that the strength of this year’s team is the great work ethic that the players are presenting. “The guys are grinding, and have been all offseason thus far”, coach Hollingsworth shared.
The team is looking to set the culture for the new season right now, months before the football is even kicked into action. Team culture is a big part of any program and…
