Lady Tigers Head Back to State Tournament with Win Over Bolivar

Friday, May 19, 2021 will be a day that the LHS Lady Tiger fans will remember looking back on this outstanding season Lexington is having thus far. Lexington hosted their sub-state game on this day and welcomed Bolivar to their home field. This game got out of hand quick for Bolivar and Lexington would make easy work of things in a blow out win. The Lady Tigers finished the victory in style, winning 12-1 over Bolivar.
It didn’t take long for Lexington to get things going in this game. The Lady Tigers out hit Bolivar in this shortened match-up. Both Kyrsten Brown and Cadey McDaniel would go 2 for 2 in leading Lexington. Brown had a single and a triple. McDaniel would reach safely on a single and a double, securing her four RBIs in the game. Kylie Waldrep went 1 for 1 with a single and recorded an RBI. Lauren Hall and Mykenzi Duke would both go 1 for 2 apiece. Hall reached on a single and recorded an RBI for Lexington. Duke would also hit for a single and collect four RBIs in the game. Marley Maness and Kennedy Brown each went 1 for 3 for the Lady Tigers. Brown had a single in the game and Maness hit the only home run that Lexington had on the day, giving her two RBIs.
The Lady Tigers would score five runs in the first inning and follow that up with six runs plated in the second inning. Then in the third inning, the Lady Tigers would score their final run of the game. Bolivar would be held scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when they would score their only run of the game.
Starting in the circle for Lexington was Cadey McDaniel. She would toss two innings for the Lady Tigers. McDaniel gave up one hit, no runs, and struck out four. Kailyn Melton would throw three innings of relief out of the bullpen. Melton allowed four hits and one run while…
