The Board of Mayor and Aldermen for Sardis met on Monday evening, May 3, 2021. With a quorum being present, Mayor J. W. Creasy called the meeting to order.

A 90-minute presentation was given by Zenner Corporation regarding a new meter reading system. Two specific systems were discussed: a fixed-based system and a drive-by system. It was a very thorough and informative presentation. A proposal/bid was requested by the city. More companies will be presenting their products and submitting bids at future meetings.

After the presentation, the minutes of the previous meeting and the financial statement were read and approved unanimously by all present.

A report was made by waste management that the tonnage of the garbage truck is nearing its capacity. Other trash removal alternatives will be discussed at the next meeting.

On May 17, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. a public hearing on the 2021-22 Budget will be held at City Hall. On June 7, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. a second hearing will be held, and the budget will be passed at that time. The new fiscal year begins…
