Lexington Handed Big Loss by South Side

On Friday, May 7, 2021, the LHS Tigers played in their opening game of the TSSAA District 14-AA tournament. Lexington would take on the South Side Hawks in Jackson, Tennessee at South Side High School. South Side was the #3 seed in the tournament, while Lexington was the #6 seed. The Tigers would have their hands full on the day as South Side showed why they claimed that third spot. Lexington wouldn’t be able to get any offense going in the game and fell, 8-0 to South Side.

While not being able to score any runs in the game, Lexington would allow South Side to plate two runs to start the game in the first inning. Then, the Hawks would plate four runs in the bottom of the third inning and another two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take the win over the Tigers.

Lexington didn’t seem to bring their best performance on the year as the Tigers committed a total of six errors and only collected five hits as a team against South Side.

Leading the way at the plate for Lexington was Allen Scott, who went 1 for 2 in the game. Scott would reach safely on a single. Drake Coleman, Shae Stanfill, Braden Myracle, and Hunter Reeves each went 1 for 3 for the Tigers. Myracle, Coleman, and Stanfill all got on base by…
