LHS Lady Tigers Softball Knocks Off Hatton and Muscle Shoals

Tournament play continued for the Lady Tigers softball program this past weekend in Florence, Alabama. Lexington would find the success that they had hoped for in the first two matchups on Saturday, April 17. The Lady Tigers would come away with two victories in these games. Lexington beat Hatton, 6-3, and then defeated Muscle Shoal by a final score of 5-1.

After losing two games on Friday, Lexington bounced back and took on Hatton High School in their first game on Saturday. The Lady Tigers would get back in the win column in this game. Lexington would go on to take the win over Hatton. The Lady Tigers would score first in the bottom of the first inning when they plated two runs. Hatton would score two runs in the top of the third inning before Lexington came back and scored four runs in the bottom half of the third inning. LHS would allow Hatton to score one more run in the top of the fourth inning.

Kennedy Brown went 1 for 1 in the game. She reached on single for Lexington. Lauren Hall, Kylie Waldrep, Kailyn Melton, Jadyn Yarbro, and Marley Maness would each go 1 for 2 for the Lady Tigers. Hall, Brown, Waldrep, Melton, and Yarbro all hit for singles. Maness, Waldrep, and Hall would record an RBI a piece while…
