United Minds Holds Fundraiser BBQ Contest

On Saturday, April 3, 2021, United Minds of Lexington sponsored the “Who’s the Boss BBQ competition” at the old Montgomery School grounds.

If you weren’t at the old Montgomery School grounds on Saturday, April 3, 2021, you missed a great event, and a lot of great barbecue.
United Minds of Lexington sponsored the Who’s the Boss BBQ competition, featuring a lot of great local flavor, including grill masters Steven Priddy, Lourinsa Johnson, Brandon McKnight, Aloysious Thomas, Centras Forney, Victor Weatherspoon A.K.A Rooster, Stephen Buck, Sam Timberlake & Robert Carver, Micheal Holder A.K.A Wolf, Kennenth Jones, Brian Easley, Pudge and Lisa Middleton, Charles Jr. and Veronica Kizer, and Shon from Travelers BBQ.
There were homemade baked goods for sale, and music was provided by DJ Lanoice Cole. For the children there were lots of games and also free hotdogs and hamburgers for the children.
The Henderson County Health Department also set up on site to distribute COVID-19 vaccinations.
Winning Best Overall (The Boss) were Charles Jr. and Veronica Kizer. In the other four categories, the winners were: People’s Choice- Charles Jr. and Veronica Kizer; Best Ribs- Stephen Buck; Best Pork- Pudge and Lisa Middleton; and Best Chicken- Travelers BBQ.
