LHS Lady Tigers Split Games Last Saturday

The Lexington High School Lady Tigers softball team wrapped up their final games of the Brentwood Invitational on Saturday, April 3. Lexington would have a morning game against Summertown and then would face White House-Heritage that same afternoon. The Lady Tigers would split those games on the day.

On Saturday morning, the Lady Tigers had their first game of the day against Summertown. Lexington failed to score a run in this contest and allowed Summertown to plate two runs in both the top of the fifth and sixth innings, as they were defeated in this game by a final score of 4-0.

Not having an ideal day at the plate, Lexington could only manage three hits in the game. Both Jadyn Yarbro and Cadey McDaniel went 1 for 2. Each player hit for a single. Kyrsten Brown went 1 for 3 in the contest, reaching on a double.

McDaniel would take the loss for the Lady Tigers as she allowed six hits, issued four walks, and gave up four runs while in the circle.

Coming into the afternoon game, Lexington was looking to end the tournament on a positive note before heading back to West Tennessee. The Lady Tigers were able to get in the win column with a shutout over Whitehouse-Heritage. Behind Kailyn Melton’s strong arm, LHS was able to…
