Tigers Upended by Riverside Panthers

After starting the season with a huge win over Riverside last week, the LHS Tigers welcomed the Panthers to their home turf on Tuesday, March 16, 2021. Lexington was looking to keep their foot on the pedal and stay in the win column, but Riverside had other plans on the night. Ultimately, LHS couldn’t keep up with the pace of the Panthers and fell, 11-3.
The Tigers got things working in the first inning by scoring a run on a groundout by Allen Scott. Neither Lexington nor Riverside would cross the plate in the second inning. In the third inning, the Panthers would score two runs in the top of the inning before Lexington would tie the score in the bottom half of the inning, when Aaron McClure would hit into a fielder’s choice to score the run. Riverside would take control of the game by scoring seven runs in the top of the fourth inning. The Tigers would add another run in the bottom of the fifth, before Riverside scored two more run in the top of the sixth inning to hand the Tigers the loss.
At the plate, Lexington would account for three hits in the game. Caleb Halters would go 1 for 2, with a single against Riverside. Both Jack Taylor and Aaron McClure would go 1 for 3 for the Tigers. Both players would hit for…
