There always seems to be plenty of traffic in Lexington, but the new traffic light system recorded 42,889 vehicles at one intersection in a 24-hour period. Robbie McCready, Public Works Director for the City of Lexington, shared a snap shot of data from the traffic light at Church Street and Broad Street, which showed the increase.
The intersection at Church Street and Broad Street often logs 34,000 vehicles per day, and more if there is an accident on I-40 which causes traffic to be routed through Lexington. But this time it was all regular traffic, which may spell good news in terms of…
