Harper Talks About Lexington Utilities at Rotary Club Meeting

The special guest speaker for the August 25, 2020 Lexington Rotary Club was Michael Harper, General Manager of Lexington Utilities.  Michael said that he has been the General Manager for thirteen years and applauded the board and mayor for their support and foresight, and for all the wonderful employees that keep Lexington Utilities in great shape and operation. Customer satisfaction is important to Michael and updated information for the public is one of his objectives. “We try to keep our citizens informed of any projects or issues so they can plan their day around it.” Lexington Utilities serves four counties, Henderson, Decatur, Chester and Madison, and some 15,000 customers all together. There are 688 main lines of water, six water tanks, two underground clear wells, and the water treatment plant was built in 1967. Water comes from Beech Lake and treats about 3.1 million gallons of water per day.
